Rewards and Challenges

Question and answer time! Someone asked me what the challenges and rewards are breaking out on my own after being involved with two very successful organizations.

This made me think. There are so many of both! I’ll try to list as many as I can think of:

1) I’d like to think I am still involved with both organizations. I continue to have great relationship with management at both Exos (AP) and the Dodgers. After being with those organizations for 13 years and 6 years respectively, I would like to think that just because I am not there on a day to day basis anymore, doesn’t mean I’m gone. I’d like to think I influenced people, programming, and the organizations in a way that wouldn’t just disappear after a couple of months of me physically not being present in the office. I continue to love both organizations, root for their success, and will remain involved with both, even if it is simply cheering from the stands.

2) With that said…I now get to watch baseball with a beer and hot dog in hand. Definite plus.

3) With THAT said…those seats will now be in the top deck instead of in the dug out. Definite minus.

4) Spending time with family and friends is something I have very much missed over the last 6 years of working 80-100 work weeks. I missed births, weddings, dinners, funerals and more simply because I was working. Don’t get me wrong, I would not change a minute of it. I loved what I have done and am so grateful for it. I am in a different phase of life now, and going to my cousin’s wedding at the end of the month and being with my family for those days is my new priority. I am so excited for that! I have had numerous happy hours, lunches, and coffees with friends I haven’t talked to in ages. And I didn’t have my phone on the table waiting for it to light up
